Having trouble exiting the Supermatic® ?Updated 19 hours ago
Likely due to upward force or snow & ice accumulation.
Firstly, and most importantly, please do not use your boot to push the lever down - it's harder to control the force with your boot than with your hand, which could lead to lever breakage.
- If you're stopped on your toe side edge facing uphill, the upward force from lifting your heels can apply extra tension to your Supermatic® hooks. This can make it hard or uncomfortable to depress the levers. To resolve this, turn around onto your heel side edge - or find a flatter area to release. Alternately, use the ratchets to get out just like a normal binding.
- Some users have experienced difficulties releasing their front foot after long sessions riding. This is because ice and snow can accumulate around the hooking system when the binding has not been released over a long period. Brush the ice and snow away with your gloves and you'll find the levers release more easily.
